A superb facsimile reproduction of the original Cuala Press edition of 1936. Fine, in quarter cloth over blue paper boards, black ink titles, with near fine protective glassine dust wrapper. Internally, title with vignette of The Sword of Light (An Claidheamh Soluis), reproduced from a line drawing by Russell, printed in red, [4], [1], 2-62 pp, [1], [1] limitation, reproduced using photo-lithography, probably from the library of Colin Smythe via auction. (207*139 mm). Russell & Yeats first met as young art students in Dublin in 1883. Their friendship continued through periods of disagreement & remained important to the Irish Literary Revival until Russell's death in 1935. The letters provide evidence of their intellectual relationship & their involvement in the cultural life of Ireland.
