Hardcover. Condition: Good. Chocolate-brown cloth boards with an elegant, understated front cover design featuring a gilt steam locomotive and driver (see photo). Similarly, there are gold gilt titles along the spine. Boards are a little curled at the corners, the head and tail of spine a little rubbed, but for its age the book is structurally sound. The more obvious impact of the passing years is revealed in the level of tanning and foxing. The front and end papers are most affected. The text is clean and clear. Finally, the edges are foxed. The fact that the boards are dark brown arguably gives this book an older look and feel which is not fully warranted by its physical condition. But the front board with its fine gilt steam locomotive and driver make this an appealing offer. pp432. 8vo. More images on request.
