LUKIN, James. Picture Frame Making for Amateurs: being practical instructions in the making of various kinds of frames for paintings, drawings, photographs and engravings. iv, 84, [16]pp 'Catalogue of Practical Books'., 42 wood-engravings in text. A good copy in original blue gilt cloth, a little rubbed and corners bumped. Very scarce. 8vo. L. Upcott Gill. 1882. ~ James Lukin (1827-1917), was a student at the Marlborough House Grammar School where, to his delight, he was granted access to the headmaster's lathe room. Rev. Thomas Meyler had purchased Holtzapffel lathe No. 1417 in 1830 and was considered a splendid mechanic. It was there Lukin was instructed in ornamental turning.
