Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Seventeenth edition. Original brown and stamped gilt pictorial cloth, index, 454 pp, illustrated with several black and white drawings. Hardcover, fair. Corners bumped with cardboard exposed there and at spots along edges of boards, ¼ inch chipping off head and foot of spine, previous owner's bookplate, notations on endpapers and name and address, what appears to be a puppy's nibble off top edge of first few dozen or so leaves (text unaffected) , hinges split between two of the gatherings, bit of foxing, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked, decent reading copy.
