28 x 21cm. Hardcover in paper-covered boards housed in slipcase, vi, 120pp. Letterpress advert for another Incline Press title (New Borders: The Working Life of Elizabeth Friedlander) laid in. A significant resource and a spectacular production with tipped-in colour samples of patterned paper designed by various artists interspersed with the essays: Introduction by Tanya Schmoller, Woodcut Patterns by Paul Nash, Block Printed Papers by Phyllis Barron, Pattern Papers by Enid Marx, Judd Street Patterned Papers by Alan Powers, Rampant Lions Press Papers by Sebastian Carter, Paste Patterned Papers by Victoria Hall, and A Discursive Bibliography by Graham Moss. This book is printed in Zerkall paper in Goudy Old Style types. The machine setting was done at the Mouldtype Foundry in Leyland, and the litho printing for some of the cards were printed by Gorton, Shorock and Davies of Ancoats. All hand setting and letterpress printing was done at Incline Press. The binding has been done by hand, the work shared between Incline Press and Stephen Conway at his bindery in Bradford.
