Madras: Indian Section of the Theosophical Society, undated (1891 and 1892), contemporary cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, 17 x 13.5 cm., 2 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 49 - 192 + (2) + 2 + 192 pages, tipped-in Notice leaf between pages 48 and 49 of volume 2, corners slightly worn, the front free endpaper and the first 2 leaves are loose, front inner hinge cracked exposing cords but holding extremely firm, a large label has been removed from the front paste-down with associated slight damage, some numbers in crayon on the front free endpaper, some heavy-ish foxing affecting the last few leaves and the title-page to volume 2 and adjacent leaves, a little foxing affecting the first few leaves, faint tide-mark of a water stain visible to the upper front edges of the leaves when the book is closed, otherwise very clean, tight and sound. NOTES: Volume 2 has a title-page, but not Volume 1, however it is possible that one was never issued. The spine lettering consists of the main title ("Prasnottara") and the figure "2". This seems to indicate that the book contains 2 volumes of the Prasnottara.
