Promoted to Lead: A 30/60/90-Day Field Guide for First-Time Shift Leads and Frontline Supervisors

You got promoted. Now everyone expects you to know how to lead.

The problem is that nobody gave you a practical map for leading former peers, making decisions under pressure, correcting performance, and keeping every problem from becoming your problem.

Promoted to Lead is a hands-on 30/60/90-day field guide for first-time shift leads, people in charge, lead clerks, and frontline supervisors.

Inside, you will learn how to:

• Establish credibility without acting like you are above the team

• Make routine decisions confidently and escalate the right problems

• Coach employees without turning every conversation into a confrontation

• Handle customer conflict, safety concerns, and high-pressure shifts

• Set clear standards without expecting everyone to work exactly like you

• Build a shift that can function without you controlling every detail

• Develop the judgment and consistency required for lasting leadership

Built from nearly three decades of real frontline leadership experience, this book focuses on what actually happens during a shift: short staffing, former peers testing boundaries, customers demanding answers, employees falling behind, and managers expecting results.

No vague leadership theory. No corporate slogans. Just practical guidance for the first 90 days and the shifts that come after them.
