Add to basketThis is a UK hardcover first printing of this title published byCassell and Company in 1884. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading as Near Fine condition for its age. The book has a straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The boards are the original green colour and not faded or sunned, with the lettering and design clean and intact. The interior of the book is tightly bound with clean pages, although the front end paper is toned and has a prize label glued to the inside front board, dated July 1889. Illustrated in black and white throughout. there is no mention of a printing history in the book (usual) but research confirms this to be the first edition.

All books in my store are my own and in my possession. I expect customers to read my listings fully and look at all photos and be aware of the terms. I will work with everyone to resolve issues but I expect the same courtesy back - if I don't reply to an email within 24 hours it means I haven't received it so you'll need to resend.
I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. ALL UK parcels are tracked. if you live outside the UK tracking is NOT provided unless you choose priority mail. PRIORITY MAIL TRACKING IS IMMEDIATELY UPDATED otherwise I will only update ABE with UK tracking details on request, and only when 10 working days has passed. There will be times when, due to the value of the book, I will insist on priority mail and this will be clearly stated in my listing. If you ignore this, your order will be refused.
