Board extremities a little worn. Signature ir red on first free endpaper; otherwise a very good copy with clean interior. English translation of Ravages, a novel by French writer, Violette Leduc (1907-72), first published in France in 1955. At the time the first part of the original work, describing a lesbian relationship, was censored by labelling it as obscene. It was eventually separately published as a novella in 1966. In this translation it is published as a prologue, Therese and Isabelle, thus uniting both parts of the original Ravages. Her best known work was La Batarde (1964), a memoir, and there were several film dramatisations of her other, often erotic, writings: FICTION NOVELS LIT. FICTION FRENCH 20TH CENTURY FICTION.
