Charles Leslie ( 1650 - 1722 ) was born in Dublin, a Tory and Jacobite sympathizer, wrote this and its preceding title - ' The Observator ', and succeeding title - The Rehearsal ' in response to the Whig papers: John Tutchin's Observator and Daniel Defoe's, Review of the affairs of France.
