Front. port. xiv, (108)pp. Half calf, excellently rebacked, red label. Gillespie was an Exciseman renowned for his seizures of contraband from smugglers; Skene was his 'confidential servant and clerk'. Gillespie was found guilty of forging bills from his home, Crombie Cottage, which was set on fire, presumably to destroy evidence.
