Contemporary calf, upper joint recently repaired. "100 brief moral musings, or essays, each concluding with a resolve designed to better the writer's future conduct. [a] portrait of a Christian stoic, but one who is not pietistic. Writing with a poet's prose and enlivening his own words with liberal quotations from classical and contemporaneous authorities Felltham documents his commitment to the search for the attributes that make up a good life."
