In this book both linear, nonlinear controllers as well as nonlinear observers are proposed to mitigate frequency oscillations. The drawbacks and limitations of linear controllers overcome with nonlinear sliding mode controller and sliding mode observer based controller. The performance of optimal linear controllers, optimal non linear observers are tested on multi-area thermal-thermal power system.
