A little wear to extremities, with a few small damp stains on front board and sunned spine. Lower corner damage to figure p. 586 and occasional scattered foxing and ink underlinings in text; otherwise a very good copy. 1940 inscription on verso of title. Illustrated by 17 pages of engraved and photographic plates, including 5 colour plates of flies and by text figures, including whole page. Copy LACKS frontispiece steel engraving of author. A popular practical guide to fly fishing including illustrations of Derbyshire dales. The first edition by David Foster (1815-81) of Burton-on-Trent, compiled by his sons, D. and W. H.
