A very good copy. An epic poem around Alfred the Great. Alfred is visited by a deity who shows him the future of Britain, overall a religious satire taking on both Catholicism and Protestantism. The journey visits a good number of famous historical characters. Full calf, with gilt work and marbled endpapers. AEG. A nice copy, a good bit of rubbing to the boards, spine tips and corners. Some toning the leaves, spotting and toning to the tissueguard, internally very neat. Some pulling and splitting to the hinges.
