About the book >.>.> I began collecting pictures of Seaham several years ago with three intentions in mind -to bring together and preserve copies of the remaining, often rapidly deteriorating old photographs of our town, to gather as much information as possible on each one and to make them available to the people of Seaham. I very soon became aware of the intense interest in these pictures and hoped to produce a book. However, whilst I had hundreds, and soon, thousands of photographs thanks to the generosity of Seaham folk in lending prints, my limited historical knowledge did not allow me to write a history of the town. Through our mutual interest in Seaham I met Tom McNee. A fortunate encounter because, I think, Tom's vast knowledge of local history, acquired by much patient research, has enabled him to produce a very readable history of Seaham, an interesting blend of fact and anecdote.
