About this Item
This is an internal security booklet produced by the Ministry of Food in 1943 and signed (in facsimile?)by the Secretary to the Minister for Food H.L. French. It gives a list of rules and regulations by which to prevent dissemination of information from the ministry to enemy agents. It is marked CONFIDENTIAL on the cover. 'FOR RETENTION' is also written on the cover, in an unknown hand. From the library of Sir G.S. Bishop, youngest ever Deputy Secretary who was at the Ministry of Food 1945-9. This ephemeral document is very scarce. The association with a very senior member of the civil service during the war, someone who took many decisions to achieve the best food security possible for the British people during WW2, is highly appropriate and adds to the academic and collector's interest.
