First edition thus. 8vo. (ii), 217, (1); (ii), 7-196 pp. Publisher's blue cloth, gilt lettered to the spine, dust jacket. Black and white illustrations. Jacket worn with small losses, slight fading to the cloth where it has been exposed, otherwise very good. Bringing together two separate works: Knight's 'A Discourse on the Worship of Priapus' of 1786 and Wright's 'The Worship of the Genrative Powers During the Middle Ages of Western Europe' from 1866.
