Original hessian cloth boards; some edge wear, several ink splashes, lacking front endpaper, rear endpaper torn with loss. Early ownership name of John Humphreys at foot of first titlepage, repetitions of his name dated 1785 on rear endpaper & inner rear board. Rear cover bears the name Robt. Hancock - this name and that of Jno Hancock also on rear endpaper & inner board. ESTC N37928, Illinois only. By William Lily, with contributions by John Colet, Thomas Robertson, and others.
