In the modern age of soccer it is not uncommon for a team to change formations three or four times in one game depending on the coach. Pep Guardiola is well known for making multiple formation changes in the same game. Then there are other top coaches who have not changed anything major tactically for years. Arsene Wenger is a very good example of that at Arsenal FC. Arsenal has a brand of soccer they believe in and they do their best to stay true to that style – usually playing some type of 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1.
