Item description from seller

FIRST EDITION, a few leaves with little spots at page-heads, pp. xiv, [1], 213, [2], crown 8vo, original very dark green cloth, backstrip lettered in gilt with lean to spine, light rubbing at extremities with a touch of wear at corner-tips, a few little pressure-marks to lower board, corners a bit pushed, brown endpapers, very good. An influential work - its impact broadened through Oscar Wilde's enthusiastic endorsement of it as his 'golden book', a constant companion. Its author was, as the title-page refers, a Fellow at Brasenose College, Oxford.
