Decorated by chapter heading vignettes in blue and by publisher's device on title page. The aviation volume in the Shell War Achievements series. Illustrated by Laurence Scarfe (1914-93), artist and designer, known for his murals (including at the Festival of Britain) and for wallpaper designs.
