Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is an account of Sir Roger Casement's 1916 trial for high treason for his involvement with the Irish Rebellion. Casement, a former British diplomat, was accused of attempting to recruit Irishmen to fight for Germany against Britain during World War I. The trial attracted significant public attention, and the book provides an in-depth look at the proceedings, from the opening speeches to the verdict and Casement's subsequent unsuccessful appeal. The book also discusses the broader legal and historical context of the trial, particularly the legal complexities of charging someone with treason for actions committed outside the realm of England. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781331405108_0
