Illustrated by wood engravings, including frontispiece, one full page plate, title page and tailpiece vignettes and by numerous woodcuts in text. Thomas Frederick Salter (c.1762-63 - c.1825) was an angling writer based in London. His best known work was The Angler's Guide, first published 1814, whose third edition, with the popular Abridgement, is advertised on the last page of this title.
