FIRST EDITION, ONE OF 750 COPIES, pp. 31, crown 8vo, original plain sewn wrappers, dustjacket of patterned paper with printed label a little sunned around spine, sometime fixed to covers (as issued) but the adhesive now dried, very good. Inscribed by the author on the half-title: 'Helen & Margaret, with very much love from Lucy'. The author's only collection of verse, published at the age of 85 - she was best known for her Green Knowe books, based on the Manor House in which she lived at Hemingford Grey, but excelled in a variety of media including as an artist and embroiderer; her own formidable personality, energy, and creativity were reflected throughout her work. She had briefly been at Somerville College, her time there curtailed by her volunteer-work as a nurse in the Great War. Seller Inventory # 73299
