The Sai Kong is the third largest river in the empire of China, and the second only to the Yangtse in importance. The author gives a complete narrative of the journey, starting with a short trip from Hong Kong to Canton. He describes the industry and particulars of certain towns, and relates dome legends connected with various scenes on the journey up and down the river.
