Institution of Civil Engineers", rear cover gilt-stamped with the letters "I.C.E." intertwined, gilt-stamped leather book-plate stating "Miller Prize Awarded to Thomas Harkness Watt, Stud. Inst. C.E. by the Institution of Civil Engineers", laid in is a T.L.S. on Institution of Civil Engineers headed paper, 33 x 20 cm., dated 1st June 1894 to Thomas Harkness Watt, 160 Hope Street, Glasgow, informing him that he has won a Miller Prize for his paper on "The Lanarkshire and Dumbartonshire Railway" (letter creased where folded), folding plates a little foxed along the edges and at some of the folds, plate 18 a little-darkened and frayed along the fore-edge and with one short tear along a fold, otherwise internally in extremely clean, tight and sound condition. Recently respined in black calf which does not match the dark brown of the corners of the original binding, corners worn, some wear to the edges. Collated and complete.
