16 lines on 2pp 8vo; 26 lines on 2pp 4to with integral address leaf. Henry Francis Cary, 1772-1844, author and, most famously, translator of Dante's Divine Comedy, which Cary published at his own expense in 1814. Cary worked as an assistant in the British Museum library and was in the circle of Coleridge and Lamb - as was George Darley, 1795-1846, the Irish poet. The essayist, lawyer & translator, Abraham Hayward, 1801-1884, published his translation of Savigny's On the Vocation of our Age for Legislation and Jurisprudence in 1831.
