Describes a framework, collection system, and display method for documenting early childhood programs. The work is based on the authors' studies of the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, as well as their own theories and experiences in American schools. The method they present incorporates an authentic assessment system called Work Sampling, and is applicable to various curriculum models, including thematic teaching and the project approach. Contains many examples of documentation, including many childrens' drawings and b&w photographs. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
