A cruel and callous poster that depicts Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, two prominent members of the so called '27 club', that is people who died at the tender age of 27. A snidely exploitative poster, Hendrix and Joplin died from drug induced deaths within weeks of each other in 1970. The former choked on his own vomit after taking barbiturate pills. This poster, was undoubtedly knocked up quickly to cash in on their status as dead icons of rock 'n' roll. It signals the re-starting of anti-drug policy in the USA and Nixon's launching of his War on Drugs shortly after.
