As a single mother of six children, five of whom are adopted, Artá D. Artá D. Banks served on President Clinton's nonpartisan Adoption 2002 panel and is a board member for Angels Unaware, a support group for families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. She lives in Aurora, Colorado.
