Alison H Simpson is an Author and Sound and Movement Therapist. She spent 17 years co-ordinating a support service for a Housing Association before taking redundancy to pursue her real passions for writing and music.
When she was 24, Alison developed chronic pain in her arms. After 6 years of investigations she was diagnosed with Central Sensitisation Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Thankfully she discovered the power of meditation, a positive attitude, movement, affirmations and the Emotional Freedom Technique. She hopes her writing will help encourage children to celebrate their differences and build strength and resilience for overcoming life's challenges.
Alison loves to dance and spend time in nature with her best friend Bodhi, a Romanian rescue dog who was found abandoned outside a shelter when he was 3 months old. He was taken to a rescue shelter to be looked after and a few months later, Dogs Walk This Way Rescue brought him to England. Alison was a volunteer there at the time and adopted him straight away. He was the inspiration for her first book, Bodhi the Pirate Dog.
