This is in the book. What is not in the book ia the reason for the double kiss. Nixon had a reputation for being two faced and . Ellington kissed both sets. There is another Nixon/jazz story. Nixon & Louis Armstrong were returning from overseas on the same plane. Nixon, the story goes, told Armstrong he loved his playing and asked if he, Nixon, could help Armstrong in any way. Armstrong said he help him by carrying a little bag of his off the plane. So Nixon took it through customs. "it" held Armstrong's stash. AS NEW wraps. All corners perfectly square, no reader's crease.

Dating of book difficult as title page is 1882 but the very last page of book is dated 10th Aug, 1886. To furthur complicate, tp says "part VII" but the very next page states Vol II. There is no table of contents, list of illustrations or index. The six Ruskin plates are "IX Viola Canina fast sketch", "X Viola Canina details", "XI States of Adversity", "XII Mentha", "XIII Veronica Officinalis", "XIV Cotoneaster Spray seen in front" and "XV Cotoneaster Spray seen from the side".
