Illustrated World Encyclopedia, Vol. 1 ONLY (1967 Hardcover without Dust Jacket) The Illustrated World Encyclopedia was conceived, developed and operated by Albert H. Morehead (1909-1966). He was author, co-author or editor of over 60 books, including books on games and puzzles, and a number of reference works, some of which are still in print. This 1967 edition was the first edition published after Morehead's death. This edition is often referred to as the Bobley Edition after Roger Bobley who served as the Revision Editor until the 1967 edition could be published. This encyclopedia set (21 volumes) was designed for elementary and secondary school students. Hence the focus on illustrations, diagrams, and maps to present information. In each volume has a section known as Literary Treasures (numbered separately), featuring summaries and analyses of the world's most important literature.
