Auf dem an ihn adressierten Brief sagt Rózsa durch seine Unterschrift die Unterstützung zu.Rózsa gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Filmkomponisten und schrieb unter anderem die Musik zu den Monumentalfilm-Klassikern Ben Hur und El Cid. Daneben umfasst sein Werkverzeichnis auch Orchester- und Kammermusik für den Konzertsaal. Rózsa komponierte in einem überwiegend an der Tonalität orientierten, gemäßigt modernen Stil.

140 : 90 mm. Najdenow wurde 1899 in Warna am Schwarzen Meer geboren. In seiner Kindheit lernte er Geige und Klavier. 1905 brachte sein Onkel einen Flügel aus Russland mit. Bereits als Schüler spielte er von 1912 bis 1914 im Stadtorchester als Geiger. 1920 studierte er in Wien Komposition bei Joseph Marx und Klavier bei Paul de Conne. 1921 ging er nach Leipzig, wo u. a. Fritz Reuter zu seinen Lehrern gehörte. Max Hochkofler unterrichtete ihn in Dirigieren.Zurück in Bulgarien, debütierte er 1925 mit Mignon von Ambroise Thomas am Nationalen Opern- und Ballett-Theater Sofia. 1930 besuchte er Kurse bei Bruno Walter und Clemens Krauss in Salzburg. 1944 wurde er Chefdirigent in Sofia. Gastdirigate führten ihn an die Berliner Staatsoper (Mussorgskis Chowanschtschina 1958), an das Leningrader Maly-Theater (Molchanows Romeo, Julia a tma 1962/63) und an das Moskauer Bolschoi-Theater (Verdis Don Carlos 1963/64). Najdenow war insbesondere auf die Opern Mozarts, Mussorgskis und Verdis spezialisiert.

Reinoß, Hannover, 1970, S. 260. 1899 in Stuttgart (Feuerbach) geboren, absolvierte Otto Herrmann die Volksschule und eine Lehre als Chemiegraph, bevor er als Freiwilliger in den Ersten Weltkrieg zog. Der militärische Drill die Kriegserlebnisse, und die materielle Armut haben den Künstler geprägt und schlugen sich unmittelbar in seinem Werk nieder. Anfang der 1920er Jahre wurde Otto Herrmann auf die Stuttgarter Kunstakademie aufgenommen. Studienaufenthalte führten ihn nach München, Paris und Italien. Bei Prof. Altherr absolvierte er 1928 die Meisterklasse. Danach arbeitete er als freier Maler und gesellschaftskritischer Zeichner für Zeitschriften wie Simplicissimus und Jugend. In dieser Zeit schloss sich Otto Herrmann der ARBK (Assoziation revolutionärer bildender Künstler) an. Einer der führenden Köpfe der ARBK war der Arzt und Schriftsteller Friedrich Wolf, für dessen Arbeiter-Theaterstücke Herrmann Bühnenbilder und Masken malte. Aus dieser Zeit ist wenig erhalten - eine Bombe zerstörte 1944 sein Atelier. Während des Dritten Reiches war es ihm kaum noch möglich künstlerisch zu arbeiten. 1936 soll er Ausstellungsverbot erhalten haben und im Zuge der Aktion "Entartete Kunst" wurde 1937 ein Ölbild von ihm aus der Sammlung der Staatsgalerie entfernt. In diesem Jahr heiratete er Maria Herrmann, um ihre Verbindung nach mehr als 15 Jahren zu legitimieren. Trotzdem verließ er Stuttgart vorübergehend, um in München eine Stelle als Autotypie-Ätzer anzunehmen. Schließlich wurde er ein zweites Mal zum Militärdienst eingezogen und in ein Ausbildungslager für schwere Artillerie in Brünn (Tschechien) geschickt. Dem Einsatz an der Westfront entging er schließlich durch eine Freistellung zur Industriearbeit. Bekannt wurde Otto Herrmann zunächst 1950 für seine Serie DIE VERDAMMTEN; ein Zyklus aus Lithografien und Zeichnungen, inspiriert von Plieviers Roman "Stalingrad". Die Ausstellung der Grafiken löste in Stuttgart einen Skandal aus. Sein Anliegen, die äußerste Entwürdigung und Verlorenheit des Menschen im Kriegsgeschehen ins Bewusstsein zu bringen, trug ihm den Vorwurf ein, die deutschen Soldaten zu diffamieren. Diese erste große Aufmerksamkeit ließ Herrmann an der Serie weiter arbeiten und ein Buchprojekt in Angriff nehmen. Doch das aufstrebende Wirtschaftswunder und vor allem die Wiederbewaffnung der Bundesrepublik entzogen ihm den Boden bzw. das Publikum. Der Zyklus wurde zwar noch einige Male ausgestellt und von Sammlungen angekauft, doch Otto Herrmann war seither als der "Stalingrad-Maler" abgestempelt und zog sich frustriert über dieses Missverständnis zurück. Erst im Zuge einer Politisierung der Kunst durch die "68er" und eine Aufwertung gegenständlicher Malerei durch die "Neuen Wilden" bzw. die "Neoexpressionisten" rückten Otto Herrmanns Werke wieder in den Fokus des öffentlichen Interesses.
