Condition: A Fine copy. 1st separate printing. Unpaginated. Illustrated with 19 images, with one being an original woodblock print of Courbet, being its first printing as executed by the Ghenna Press. Those of Gericault & Elsheimer are reproduced here for the first time. 8vo. 9" x 6-1/8" "These portraits . will be shown in a retrospective exhibition [of Baskins' Work] at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1965." Artists pictured include: Eakins, Duvet, Soutine, Goltzius, Gruenewald, Seghers, Bresdin, Bardach, Blake, de Hooghe, Gossaert, de Gheyn, Mantegna, Elsheimer, Velasquez, Rembrandt, Goya, and Gericault. Printed wrappers, sewn. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve.
