Softcover. First Edition. An autobiography by Gonzales in which he shares his personal journey as an African American jazz musician during the mid-20th century. Notable for its candid and firsthand account of the triumphs and challenges he faced as an African American artist in a predominantly white industry during that time. In original pictorial wrappers. Minor chipping to spine. Crease at bottom right corner and a small chip at the center edge of the front wrapper. Some shelfwear/rubbing to both wrappers. The book has a little bit of rippling perhaps due to humidity. Pages are yellowed. Else, the binding is tight and the colors are vivid. A nice copy in Very Good condition. .
