An die Kammerräte der vorder- und oberösterreichischen Lande in Sachen der "iüngst versprochnen dreytausent fünfhundert Gulden". - Der Sohn von Erzherzog Ferdinand von Österreich (1529-95) und Philippine Welser war nach dem Tode seines Vaters als nicht voll erbberechtigter Abkömmling einer nichtstandesgemäßen Ehe seiner Eltern nebst einer reichlichen finanziellen Ausstattung auch mit einigen Besitzungen abgefunden worden. "Die bedeutendste war die Markgrafschaft Burgau, weitere die Landgrafschaft Nellenburg und die Grafschaft Hohenberg. Zeitgenossen berichten von einer prunkvollen Hofhaltung Karls auf Schloß Günzburg, seiner Residenz. Weniger beliebt war der Markgraf bei seinen Untertanen, welchen er den Weißbierkonsum verbot und bei den adligen Insassen der Markgrafschaft Burgau (unter anderem der Bischof von Augsburg, die Grafen Fugger und die Reichsstädte Ulm und Augsburg), welche er durch Zollerhöhungen und Streitereien über Herrschaftsrechte vergrätzte" (Wikipedia, Abfrage v. 23. Condition: sehr guter Zustand. Bleistift, auf chamoisfarbenem Velin, signiert Mitte unten Glink". 25,6:20,2 cm. Am Oberrand mehrere Quetschfalten im Papier. Im Mittelpunkt des künstlerischen Schaffens von Glink stand die religiöse Malerei. Zunächst folgte er dem Beruf seines Vaters und wurde Schnitzer. 1809 zog er nach München. Seit 1814 besuchte er die Münchner Akademie und wurde Schüler von J.P. von Langer (1756-1824). 1823 erhielt er ein Reisestipendium, das ihm einen Aufenthalt in Rom ermöglichte. 1820 ,stellte er eine Anbetung der Hirten und Christus und Magdalena aus. Altarbilder führte er u.a. aus für die Frauenkirche und die Petrikirche in München sowie für die Klosterkirche in Beuerberg. 1834-37 war er an der Ausmalung der Burg Hohenschwangau beteiligt, wo er meist nach Entwürfen von M. von Schwind (1804-1871) mit Szenen aus dem Leben Karls des Großen arbeitete. Das Stadtmuseum in München, Maillinger-Sammlung, bewahrt einige Zeichnungen von Glink, auch das Museum Georg Schäfer Schweinfurt besitzt Werke des Künstlers.
