Seller: Stillwaters Environmental Ctr of the Great Peninsula Conservancy, Kingston, WA, U.S.A.
Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Joyce Wieland (illustrator). Cover shows moderate shelf wear esp. at corners. Still straight and tight with no marks or dog ears noted. Catalogue of the Exhibition is still with the book. Catalogue is a trifold with all 129 pieces listed. 214pp. Preface by William J Withrow and Acknowledgements by Philip Monk. Chapters are Watershed by Lucy Lippard, Joyce Wieland by Marie Fleming, and the Films of Joyce Wieland by Lauren Rabinovitz. Also includes notes, bibliography, chronologies, and photo credits. The exhibition and catalogue chart in detail Wieland's creativity and originality in diverse media. Her developing feminism and nationalism---perhaps most clearly exemplified in her quilts and her films---and her more recent exploration of spiritual and psychological themes reflect her continuing commitment to "seeing things whole" and to an art that is part of life. A really nice book! Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit environmental restoration and education.
