Dedicatoria autógrafa a Juan [Simeón Vidarte] y su esposa Francesca [Linares Palomeras]. Vidarte fue un destacado político del PSOE en los años de la II República, la Guerra Civil, (subsecretario del Ministerio de la Gobernación, ministro plenipotenciario del Gobierno de la República en México y cónsul general de España en Tánger). Tuvieron amistad con Ceferino Palencia (y su esposa Isabel de Palencia) en su exilio mexicano. Palencia fue abogado, político y diplomático, ocupando varios puestos de juez, gobernador civil y embajador; pero también tuvo considerables dotes artísticos, ganando medallas de pintura y de grabado en las Exposiciones Nacionales de 1915 y 1924, y fue Premio Nacional de Pintura en 1920, de Grabado en 1924 y de Literatura en 1930. En el exilio en México tuvo varias exposiciones de pintura, y publicó monográficos sobre artistas españoles y mexicanos. A pesar de la enorme fama y popularidad de Picasso en la primera mitad del siglo XX, la bibliografía española (o en español) sobre el artista es muy escasa. . Español.
