A sturdy and complete copy of this children's book written by Marie, the last queen of Romania (1875-1938). She was born into the British royal family and was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Originally published around 1917. A whimsically illustrated children's tale about a stubborn, spirited princess. In VG condition with tight spine and no internal markings; light wear to board edges.

Presumed first edition, hardcover with pictorial plate to the front cover, publication date is not listed but a previous owner has written their name and "Xmas 1927" on the first free end page. The book has a small repair to the cloth at the head of the spine, and it features three colored plates, the last of which is pulling from the binding at its tail. There are also a few light cracks starting in the text block, bumps with fraying to the spine ends and cover corners, a shallow chip to the cloth at the head of the spine, sun toning to the spine, a thin scrape with a small spot of peeling to the front cover, areas of rubbing with a touch of edge wear to the covers, and some small spots and smudges to the edges of the text block, otherwise a solid Good only copy.
