The book is about documents (apparently of an historical character) that were submitted to experts and provided some curious analogies to life in England in that current time(1947). contents include: Of the new government, of the districts, of how things worked in the new world, of Bev and the housed he built not, of the people's food, of traffic that went but one way, of them who digged coal, of them who would never be slaves, of the wisdom of Damo-All and how he came by it, of the first day of the eleventh month and what happened thereon, of the women of Will and them who would close the shop, of them who wre sports, of them who instructed the young of them who believed in free speech but, of them who went on strike, of them who made good resolutions for the new year, of them who wanted work but not much, of the millennium that went bust, and the last testament of the scribe.
