Printed directly following the first performance in the United States by Maurice Grau's French Opera Company at the Fifth Avenue Theatre (New York) on Monday evening, September 10, 1883, it contains a list of Characters on the first inside page; the remaining pages contain the complete opera in three acts with dialogue and lyrics (no music) in both French and English (with the French version appearing on the left page, and the English version appearing on the right page).
