Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the ancestry of George Washington, tracing his lineage back to both paternal and maternal sides. The author draws upon various sources, including family manuscripts, church records, and historical documents, to construct a comprehensive genealogy of Washington's fami…ly. The book also examines the broader historical context of Washington's ancestry, situating it within the social and political landscape of 17th and 18th-century England and America. Additionally, the author discusses the significance of Washington's ancestry in shaping his character and the role it played in his rise to prominence as one of the most influential figures in American history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Add to basketWraps. Condition: Good. Presumed first edition/first printing. xii, 113, [3] pages. Footnotes. Illustrations. Maps. Tables. Index. No dust jacket. Stamp on title page. Cover has some wear and soiling. This is Volume II, Monograph 3 of the USAF Southeast Asia Monograph Series. Thirteen authors are listed on page 'v'. In this mono…graph, the authors from the Air War College present an illuminating story of the people and machines that fought so gallantly during this major enemy offensive. During the offensive, the skills, courage and professionalism of USAF personnel were tested continuously, and directly contributed to the eventual positive outcome. Donaldson D. Frizzell was born July 7, 1932. He received a bachelor of science from the University of Maryland and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955, beginning a long and distinguished career. He earned a master's degree from The George Washington University and co-authored "The Lessons of Vietnam" with Professor W. Scott Thompson. From the Foreword: In our continuing desire to bring to the reader an in-depth look at the use of airpower in Southeast Asia, we present in this volume a truly monumental effort at recounting the myriad of widely separate but not unrelated events and operations that took place during the Spring Invasion of 1972. In this monograph, the authors from the Air War College present an illuminating story of the people and machines that fought so gallantly during this major enemy offensive. The authors' breadth of experience in and out of combat enables them to provide a penetrating account of how airpower was brought to bear upon the enemy. The "Vietnamization" program, begun in 1969, had by March of 1972 reduced U. S. manpower involvement in Vietnam from 500,000 to 95,000. U. S. airpower involvement, however, did not decrease proportionately. Although the South Vietnamese Air Force took up the "lion's share" of the effort, U. S. airmen were still very much involved. During the offensive, their skills, courage and professionalism were tested 24 hours a day, directly contributing to the eventual successful outcome. The reader should learn from this story that not only is airpower an essential element of any major operation, but that its employment is a team effort. More so, it involves men and women on the ground as well as in the air -- one cannot function without the other.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fine. 160pp, uncut, and largely unopened. Printed by the Whitefriars Press on Kelmscott hand-made paper, #623/1,000. This is one of the favoured copies with an additional signed coloured print bound in at the title. However, although that is very nice, in common with at least some other copies (other seller…s please note!), there has been some negligence as to the inclusion in the book of a full complement of the 21 listed plates - only 18 are actually present. This can perhaps be overlooked, as a profusion of other images fill the book. Aside from some faint tanning to the endpapers, the contents are immaculate. c.22x15.5cms, top edge yellow. In the original binding of off-white cloth, spine titled in gilt, all bright, clean and sharp, in a (possibly original?) waxed paper jacket, which is fraying a little to the top edge. There is a slight darkening to the very top edges of the cloth. An extremely nice copy. First edition. Limited Edition of 1000 copies.
