Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 8vo, printed wrappers (upper cover detached), 44pp. Mild dampstain affecting upper right quadrant corner, not affecting text. More entertaining than most such recitations of personal history, the author's narrative is somewhat subjective and becomes a contribution on the history of the men and the churches of his time in the general vicinity of Worcester County, with attention drawn to cases wherein congregations dismissed their pastor and a lawsuit resulted. These are churches of the Congregationalist persuasion. A good+ copy.

Bancroft (1755-1839) was a minuteman in the American Revolution, a Congregational minister, noted leader in the Unitarian schism (leaning toward Arminianism).

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Good set in brown cloth with gilt titles on spine. Spines are faded, dust-staining to top edge of page block, ink blot stain on front cover of volume one.
