Condition: very good. Tokyo : Harimaya Kiemon, 1867 (Keio 3). 18x12cm publisher's wrapper with title label (midly used); 18 double folded leaves (ie 36pp). Signs of use, an ink smudge across one leaf; still rather good. A neat manual for learning to write the English alphabet - it is specifically English rather than generic western - and opens right to left. This was naturalist Abe's first foray into beginner texts for students of English and apparently became the model for many that followed.
