First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. From the jacket: "The collecting of Bowie knives has afforded great pleasure to a great many. Collectors have long been fascinated b the niche these knives have carved into American history. Bowie knives were carried and used by many famous and infamous Americans during a period when this country was under-going the severe growing pains of a small nation becoming great. American frontiersmen, prospectors, buffalo hunters and soldiers all used these knives as tools of their trade and as a means of protection. Bowie knives were common in the sparsely settled frontier areas, the California gold fields, the plains thick with buffalo and the battlefields of the Civil War. The book is in very good condition. There is a stamp "Buffalo Ridge East Berlin, PA." Beneath the stamp there are two stains but they are on the one side and quite smooth. The dust jacket is protected but has some wear with tears at the tips of the spine and along the edges.
