Normand PHOTO-SERVICE Abidjan. L'album raccoglie alcune immagini dello stabilimento Nestlé - Nescafé di Abidjan (Costa d'Avorio), aperto attorno al 1960; nelle fotografie vedute esterne e aeree della fabbrica, interni delle aree di stoccaggio, tostatura e lavorazione con operai al lavoro, tavolo di assaggio dei campioni con esperti (europei) e quella che sembra essere una zona residenziale annessa all'azienda. Louis Normand, nato a Parigi nel 1930, emigrò in Costa d'Avorio attorno al 1953 e dopo un breve apprendistato aprì il proprio studio «Photo Service» ad Abidjan, all'epoca capitale del territorio coloniale. In un'ampio spettro di attività, che spaziano dal ritratto al reportage, dall'agenzia stampa alla pubblicità e all'editoria, Normand documentò il fermento economico e i mutamenti dell'Africa Occidentale durante la decolonizzazione, divenendone rapidamente uno dei più affermati professionisti.
