    Three collections/works by the theologian Alessandro Calamato (17th century); bound into one physical volume. Pages are decorated headpieces, tailpieces and initials. On the frontispiece of the first work, there is a copper engraving by Abraham Aubry (17th century): a nativity scene surrounded with two putti and two allegorical figures (ruler, scholar). /// Contemporary leather binding with raised bands and coloured edges; hardback, [6]+518+[42]+80, [20]+546, [8]+378+[2] pp., 8° (17.5 x 21 cm), leather slightly worn, with tiny cracks, small rubbing marks and a few bookworm traces, front endpaper has several old notes written with pen, edges yellowed and faded (colour mostly effaced), ca. 100 leaves, (including frontispiece) have small water stain on the top right corner, however, most pages clean and slightly yellowed, only rarely slightly foxed or with minor brown spots, pen marginalia, small bookworm traces etc., condition: good Book Language/s: Latin.

Engraved title page, 20 leaves of introductory text, followed by 71 leaves of text, followed by four leaves of black and white copper-engraved plates numbered I-IIII, followed by 226 leaves of black and white copper-engraved plates numbered 1-226. Each engraved leaf is engraved on one side only. Original full leather binding is moderately worn on the exterior hinges and extremities, with minor warping of front board. Front endpapers are lacking. Minor staining to the fore-edge of the majority of pages, affecting the margins only. Minor foxing scattered throughout, in several instances affecting the plates. Previous owner's stamp (circa 1900) on title page and half title page, and bookplate on front pastedown endpaper: Henry von Wackerbarth (Chicago). The final two leaves of plates are creased on the edge, not affecting the engravings, and the rear endpapers are heavily creased. A very attractive first edition of this work. No author is stated on the title page, but Sibmacher is mentioned in the text. "gedruckt bey Christoff Gerhard, zufinden bey Paulus Fursten." Title continues "aussgebildet zuersehen. Erste-Theil." Size: Oblong 16mo. Book.
