Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Some edge wear and rubbing wear to the rear cover. Interior clean. 8.25 X 11-inch stapled book. 60 pages with numerous black and white illustrations. No publication date, but the Preface refers to Lurleen Wallace in the past tense (she died in 1968) and documents the Wallaces' history up to Lurleen's election to Governor of Alabama (1966). She took office, succeeding her husband, on January 16, 1967 and served until her death on May 7, 1968. There is no mention of George Wallace getting re-elected in 1970. So 1969 may be the best guess on a publication date. The last page offers an explanation for the Historical Book Committee's decision to publish this book: "We are a committee , of long duration, that assembles fact, so that the left-wing propagandists and newsmen of our time shall not distort historical fact to our children and our children's children." The content comes from two inaugural books written by Asa E. "Ace" Carter?one for each of the Wallaces: George in 1963 and Lurleen in 1967.
